Trademark
Geographical indication and appellation of origin:
Patent:
It is basically a distinctive sign indicating that the goods or services produced are delivered by a specific person or company. It allows the owner to have the exclusive right to identify the goods and services that are offered, thus being able to obtain financial benefits.
These are the rights granted by the State, which allow to identify the origin of certain products. The appellation of origin is a recognition of the characteristics that make a product different from another, guaranteeing the consumer its superiority and authenticity regarding its geographical origin.
It is a negative, monopolistic right granted by the State to those who invent and develop technology because it grants the right to exclude another person from the production, commercialization or use of a new product or process for a certain number of years.
